Under Kansas law, diagnosis and treatment from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) are regulated by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB). State statutes specifically designate which licensed professionals (Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists (PhD or PsyD), and Licensed Masters or Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) are legally authorized to use the DSM to diagnose and treat mental disorders.

Why this matters:

Because every single mental health professionally can legally state they treat OCD, even if it is ethically outside of their scope.

It happens everyday. Sufferers deserve honesty, transparency, and recovery. This is why we advocate.
